I really haven’t started marketing PaulG2.com yet because I want to build up the post count a little bit with some good content. With that being said, I keep getting asked about the site and more importantly how I intend to make money.

When asked the question about how I plan to make money I let people know there are numerous ways to make money online, even more if you’re creative. When people press a little harder about specifics, I usually mention affiliate marketing.

Now if  you’re reading this site to gain tips about making money online than I’m sure you have already heard about affiliate marketing, but you would be surprised about how many people actually have no idea what you’re talking about. Since there are a lot of people that are reading PaulG2.com with no knowledge of affiliate marketing, I thought I would give a quick explanation of what affiliate marketing is and how you can use it to make some cold hard cash while working online at home.

Affiliate Marketing is when a company compensates you (the affiliate) for each visitor and customer sent their way due to your marketing. For an example, my post titled Assassins Creed 2 has an affiliate offer within the post.

Once a person clicks on the picture of the game, they are moved to amazon.com via my affiliate link.

Look in the address bar and you will see paulg2 in there, that’s my link. In later posts, we’ll get into making this appear less like an offer by cloaking the affiliate link but for this post, we’ll leave it out in the open.

If a purchase is made then I am compensated per the affiliate terms and agreement between amazon.com and myself.

If you want to read more about affiliate marketing then go here to the wikipedia page. If you want to learn more about how to make money with affiliate marketing, or at least see how I intend to make money online then keep coming back to PaulG2.com
