Time to make Money

Real quick post today.

Not only is our company going to begin selling our services to local businesses, but we are also going to be setting up a membership site. The membership site will consist of an how-to for people interested in providing the same services we are to their local businesses and also an how-to for business owners themselves for do it yourself marketing.

There will be other items that are included in the membership that I can not divulge at this point, but it looks like we will be able to help lots of people by delivering real value to our customers. No ETA on the membership because all the content and site set-up are all being created as we speak. Keep checking back for more information.

On a side note we just purchased our first mac to allow us to start developing our apps. Our first app is in the wireframe stage and will shortly be getting its awesome graphics and code created.

Continued updates

Our main site continues to get updated with more buttons and less clutter. We have removed the sidebar completely and converted the information that was there into new buttons to keep the new look streamlined. Since more and more people are getting used to the icon layout with devices like the ipad and smart-phones we though we would follow suit and see how having buttons instead of text would affect our blog.

One of the buttons teases a new product coming soon. The DIY Marketing will be an off shoot of our BMC website. I really can’t go into the details just yet with the reason being is we’re not done with the testing of the system. If everything works as planned I believe the system will be a great help to those that use it.

So the groundwork is almost finished and soon we will go live with marketing our products and services. I can’t wait to see what happens. We will definitely keep you posted here at the blog.

BMC HQ- Niche Site Duel Post 2

I’ve been hard at work trying to follow Pat Flynn’s advice on backlinks. Here are a couple of the things I have done so far:

Articles
I wrote an original article for my new blog covering business marketing consulting titled Business Marketing Must Haves. I then used a tool called The Best Spinner to take my original article and “spin” it to produce variations of the article. The Best Spinner software was really easy to use and in no time I had enough variations of the post to feel comfortable using on other sites.

Article marketing
I then took my “new” articles and began to submit them to article sites. So far I have only submitted to two sites. those sites were Amazines and EzineArticles. Amazines has already approved my article on business marketing consulting but EzineArticles has not. I plan on submitting to more article sites shortly.

New Blogs
I of course am linking to my new site covering business marketing consulting from my various blogs but I am also using free platforms to create new blogs to link to my new site. So far I have created a blog on WordPress.com, and Blogger that uses a copy of my article. I am also going to tie into those blogs a video form my YouTube account to make them look like they are actually updated and lived in a little.

Web2.0
I have also used my article to create a Squidoo Lens and a Hub Page that use my keywords to link back to my site. I have also created a FaceBook Fan Page and Twitter accounts for the site.

So I’m happy so far with the work put in, but I realize I have an opportunity to do more when it comes to the article marketing, new blogs, and web2.0 steps of backlinking. The plan is to wrap up those areas and then move into the second layer of linking to those sites, lens, and hubs that I created. I’m not sure if I will use the same methods as Pat seeing as the software he uses cost more than what I’m used to paying. I just might though because his results are hard to argue with and the time I would save would definitely benefit me in the long run.
I’m also looking for people to guest post for the new site. If anyone is interested in guest posting then just get in touch with me.

Here is the new site that Covale Media LLC is working on. BusinessMarketingConsultingHQ.com is a website that is in the business marketing consulting niche. If you haven’t seen Pat Flynn’s Niche Site Duel you need to! There is a list of people trying to get niche sites up and running and they each have great tips for anyone to follow. Even though we’re a little late to the party I’m glad to be part of it.

Our site is BusinessMarketingConsultingHQ.com How and why we decided to go into this niche begins with a piece of software- Market Samurai

First let me say that this software is no joke. It breaks things down like relevant keywords, SEO traffic, the commercialization of keywords, and much more.

So with my new software I decided I would try to find a niche that relates to my business, but has some hope of becoming the number one site on Google for its niche. With that thought I went ahead and logged into Market Samurai and began my search.

I can’t go into the details and numbers of my niche(not yet anyway) although if you have a copy of Market Samurai and notice my new blog you probably could put two and two together and figure it out! I just started the blog yesterday and have followed my own advice in one of the post on the blog entitled Business Marketing Must Haves For Your Blog.

Once I have the basics and about three more posts I will then begin to use the method Pat Flynn used in his niche site duel to create back links in my quest to hit the Google number 1 spot in my niche. I will definitely keep everyone posted on what happens so don’t forget to come back.

So here is a video covering my thoughts on MicroWorkers.com I think I rambled a little too much while covering the site and the video is longer than I first thought, but I still think you should have a listen.

I’m very interested to know what everyone thinks about this site. My thoughts are that if a person didn’t care about their online persona they could really go crazy in making different accounts in places and then rack up some cash completing these jobs.

I also think that there is some great potential to use this site to help jump-start getting some traffic for your own blogs and facebook fan-pages. I think I might come back to this site after the holidays and try out the employer side of things.

Anyway let me know your thoughts.

So here is my brief video on oDesk and some of the things you can do with it. Now that I have my software all figured out I will video the whole process the next time I post a new job to give you even greater detail and step by step instructions on how do post a job.

First I want to apologize for not getting my oDesk video up yet. I had a couple of technical difficulties with the screen capture. So now I have some new software and will try to redo the video. I should be able to have that up some time Monday morning.

So we have the oDesk video coming up Monday, later today I will be working on some affiliate marketing stuff concerning Facebook. I think I’m going to make a landing page for Facebook advertising products and see what happens.

Tomorrow I will be going over different plans that my company will offer to local businesses. I am going to focus on getting these small businesses online, and then we will work on their online marketing. I need to come up with the plans I intend to offer as well as a pricing structure. After that I need to get the contracts ready and up to snuff. Then I will begin to research the small businesses in the area and begin to reach out to them to discuss what I can offer. My letterhead is ready to go and I’m anxious to get going with actually doing something instead of just reading theories.

I’m also going to be re-reading Crush It!: Why NOW Is the Time to Cash In on Your Passion from Gary Vaynerchuk. After reading that I might just pre-order his new book The Thank You Economy

I need to get some work done on my mothers new site. She wants a site that focuses on crafts, so I need to get her a logo, and get her site set up the way she wants it. I think we’re going to go with a simple blog design to start. Right now she is focusing on Patio Paver Pals, but might move on to other things.

Anyway going to be a busy weekend, but all the work needs to be done. At least its work I can do at home while watching football and not work that I’m doing at some cubicle in an office building.

oDesk and the quest for a new logo.

So yesterday I went ahead and bit the bullet and posted a job on oDesk. The job is to create a new logo for the PaulG2.com blog. I have never used oDesk before but I can say that it has been painless so far.

So far I have listed the job, interviewed candidates for the job, and have hired a graphic designer. Now the end of the job is supposed to be by October 26, but I am sure that we will go back and forth a little with revisions.

In a couple of days I will put up a video on going through the steps of getting signed up and getting a job posted. I must say that it was pretty cool to have people around the world competing to design our next logo. You know I’ll definitely keep you posted throughout the process, but that’s all I have for now.
